About
Richard Coleman, FNP-BC, has served the Falfurrias community for more than 10 years, with healthcare experience in family medicine, emergency care, pediatrics, urgent care, and nursing home care. Â Fluent in both English and Spanish, he is committed to making patients feel heard, understood, and comfortable in their care. Â Throughout his career, serving patients in underserved communities has remained especially important to him. Â He believes healthcare is about more than treating an illness. Â It is about truly listening to patients, understanding their concerns, and treating each person with the same compassion, care, and attention he would want for himself or his own family!
Education & ExperienceÂ
Richard attended both the University of Texas-Pan America (UTPA) and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), with education and training in psychiatric care, family practice, and emergency care. Â His professional experience includes pediatric and adult emergency care in Edinburg, pediatric care and urgent care in Rio Grande City, and approximately 7-8 years providing care to nursing home residents in Hebbronville and Falfurrias. Â He also spent 10 years with Falfurrias Medical Group (FMG) in Falfurrias, where his work included rounding with dialysis patients alongside nephrologist Dr. Andrew Levine, Â where he expanded his knowledge of kidney care.
